Modern Forge Web is a one-person web design studio run by Gleb in Toronto. This page explains exactly what happens to any information you send, in plain English. It describes what this site actually does today — not a template.

What this website collects
The website sets no cookies, runs no advertising, and does not build a profile of you. There is nothing here that follows you to other sites.
Two things are recorded: what you type into the contact form and choose to send, and anonymous page-view counts (see below).
Analytics
I use Umami to count page views, so I can see which pages people actually read. It is cookieless: nothing is stored on your device, and no identifier is kept that could be traced back to you.
It records the page URL, the referring site, and a coarse country, browser and device type. It does not record your IP address, does not follow you across sites, and cannot be combined with anything else to identify you. That is why this site has no cookie banner — there is nothing to consent to.
Umami's own privacy policy is at umami.is/privacy.
The contact form
The form asks for your name, business name, and email address, and optionally your phone number and a message. Those fields are sent to me so I can reply to your enquiry.
Submissions are handled by Formspree, a form-processing service, which passes the message to my inbox. Formspree stores submissions on its own servers under its privacy policy, at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
The form also contains one hidden field used to catch automated spam. If you are a person, it stays empty and nothing happens.
What I do with it
I use your details to reply to you and, if we work together, to run the project and invoice you. That is the whole list.
I do not sell your information, share it for marketing, or add you to a mailing list. There is no mailing list.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don't turn into a project are deleted within twelve months.
Where we do work together, I keep project correspondence and invoices for six years, because Canadian tax rules require business records to be retained for that long.
Where it's stored
Email is handled through Google (Gmail) and form submissions through Formspree. Both are operated in the United States, which means your information is stored outside Canada and may be accessible to authorities there under the laws of that country.
Fonts, hosting, and other services
Fonts are self-hosted and served from this site, so no request goes to Google Fonts and no data about you reaches them.
The site is served by a hosting provider, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp) for security and diagnostics. That is normal for any website and isn't used to identify you.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you can ask what information I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask me to delete it. Email modernforgeweb@gmail.com and I'll action it — there's no form and no process to go through, it's one person reading it.
If you think I've mishandled your information and I haven't resolved it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Changes
If I add anything that collects data — analytics, a booking tool, a newsletter — I'll update this page before it goes live, and the date at the top will change.
