Terms of service
These are the terms I work under. They're written to be read, not to protect me from you. Anything specific to your project — scope, price, dates — lives in the written proposal, and that takes precedence over anything here.

Who you're dealing with
Modern Forge Web is a sole proprietorship operated by Gleb in Toronto, Ontario. There is no agency and no team; the person you email is the person doing the work.
Quotes and pricing
Prices shown on this website are starting points, not quotes. Your quote is the figure in your written proposal, and it's fixed — the number agreed at the start is the number at the end.
If you ask for work outside the agreed scope, I'll price it and get your agreement in writing before doing it. Nothing gets added to an invoice as a surprise.
Payment and refunds
A 25% deposit is due when we agree the scope. That covers the design work and is the only money that changes hands before you've seen anything.
I design your homepage and send it to you. You get two rounds of changes included. If after those you don't want to proceed, I refund the deposit in full and we part ways.
The remaining 75% is due once the site is live and you've signed off on it. Invoices are payable within 14 days.
What I need from you
Projects stall on content, not code. I need your logo, photographs, and answers to a short questionnaire to start, and reasonably prompt replies during the build.
If a project goes quiet on your side for more than 60 days, I may invoice for the work completed to that point and close it. You keep everything produced so far.
Who owns what
On final payment, you own the design, the code, the content, and the domain. All of it, outright.
I keep the right to show the work in my portfolio and to reuse generic underlying techniques — layout patterns, code utilities — as any developer does. I will never reuse your branding, your content, or your photographs.
Any third-party fonts, stock photography, or plugins used remain under their own licences, and I'll tell you which apply to your site.
After launch
Every build includes 30 days of free tuning after launch for anything that isn't working as agreed.
Ongoing care is a separate monthly arrangement, cancellable with 30 days' notice. Cancelling it doesn't affect your ownership of the site — you can take it to any other developer.
What I can't promise
I can build you a fast, accessible, well-structured website. I can't promise a specific search ranking, a specific number of enquiries, or a specific revenue figure — nobody honestly can, and anyone who does is guessing.
I'm not liable for losses arising from things outside my control: your hosting going down, a third-party service changing, or content you supply that turns out to be inaccurate or infringing.
If something goes wrong
Email me first — modernforgeweb@gmail.com. Most problems are a misunderstanding and get fixed the same day.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario.
